CYFOR Technologies, a small business federal contractor, is looking for an experienced Accountant with government contracting experience. The qualified candidate will have overall responsibility for our corporate accounting functions with a strong emphasis on financial compliance with Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) and federal regulations. The qualified candidate will be responsible for the monthly accounting cycle from invoice preparation to month- and year-end close out activities, accounts receivables, accounts payables and preparation of all financial reports.
Responsibilities include:
  • Maintain the existing corporate chart of accounts and all accounting functions in the chosen accounting system. Ensure DCAA compliancy. Overall responsibility for payroll, accounts payables and accounts receivable.
  • Maintain corporate cash management functions to include daily cash flow and reconcile all bank and credit card accounts. Provide weekly updates and prepare reports for corporate leadership.
  • Reconcile general ledger and perform all journal entries. Post all financial information to generate accurate monthly and annual financial statements.
  • Work closely with our corporate Operations Manager on preparation and maintenance of corporate budgets and forecast as well as individual contract budgets/forecasts by the preparation of required reports in a timely manner to support invoicing actions.
  • Work closely with CPA for required year-end audits as well as all tax returns.
  • Coordinate all company Tax ID’s with our payroll provider for proper tax filing and ensure that quarterly federal and state tax filings are accurate. Coordinate registration and unemployment filings for out of state contracts.
  • Work closely with our payroll provider to ensure accurate information is maintained in their system. Oversee payroll clerk and review all payroll entries to ensure 100% accuracy.
  • Manage all aspects of the monthly invoicing in the federal government Wide Area Work Flow (WAWF) system and other invoicing portals.
  • Maintain accurate enrollments for health and life insurance of new hires as well as annual re-enrollments in various online systems and reconcile monthly insurance billings to current enrollments.
  • Coordinate all activities to ensure our reviewed financials are completed on time and accurate for submittal to the Small Business Administration.
  • Maintain bank accounts for all Joint Venture companies, ensure timely funding and maintain separate accounting books for any unpopulated Joint Venture.
  • Administer all functions in our timecard system to ensure accurate translation to our accounting system and for DCAA compliance to include setting up of new charge codes, managing all leave balances and entering new hires. Review all timecards for accuracy prior to processing by payroll clerk.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.


  • B.S. in Accounting and between 5 – 7 years’ experience in government contract accounting and experience in appropriate DCAA accounting control procedures.
  • Proficient on QuickBooks.

  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.
  • Basic competence in duties and tasks of any supervised employees.
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
Required:  Candidate must be a U.S. citizen and successfully pass a general and financial background check, in addition to drug test.
